Not Believable Too many unbelievable elements required to make this story work. Also, I figured out the surprise as to what the husband was up to way before the ending. Not impressed.Poorly developed characters The main issue I had with this book was it felt like the authors ( E.G. Scott is a pseudonym) concentrated so much on this twisted plot and forgot that there needs to be some compelling reason why the reader should be interested in what happens to the characters. I'm all for unlikable characters in books, but there has to be something about them that wants me to keep reading. The first 100 pages or so were a chore to get though because the characters felt so over-the-top, but eventually I at least became more interested in finding out what was going to happen.Rebecca and Paul have been married for almost 20 years. She's addicted to opiates, and he has been having an affair. When Rebecca discovers Paul is inching his way out the door with their life savings, she develops a plan to get revenge. This book is full of deeply disturbed individuals and takes one crazy turn after another.While this became more of a page-turner in the second half, my overall feeling is it's just an okay read. I give the authors credit for trying to come up with a plot that tries to catch readers off guard but unfortunately the book suffered greatly from poorly developed characters. I think this might be one of the rare instances that if the book were made into a movie, the film would have the potential to be better.I won a free copy of this book in a giveaway but was under no obligation to post a review. All views expressed are my honest opinion.Excellent Pageturner. Twists and turns. Can picture as a movie! I was a little annoyed with the jive talk of the detectives. The murder mystery was thrilling!

Love this series! Love this series! Haven't read a YA series in a while that has grabbed my attention but this one did right from the start. I started reading the books when the first one was released but love this set together. I couldn't wait for the next book and can't wait for the next 3 books in this series. There are many twists and turns that I never knew what was going to happen next. I also love the main characters and the drama that is forming. I am never disappointed by Victoria Dannan's books and these didn't disappoint either.Thanks againn Victoria! I love your work As if High School was not nightmareish enough, now let's put you in a game. No you do not get to know the rules, or who else is playing, or even what exactly losing means. Yep, sounds entertaining. For Me, and You. Not so much for the players. This book does not make little adults of sixteen year old kids, it does show how a sixteen year old may tackle a problem totally unlike a 40 year old, even the same person 26 years later (did I do tthatt math right?). I totally enjoyed the slow draw out of the details, I had read parts one and two before, but I like this format better, although I see why in the YA category it may make more sense to "serialize" the novel. Absolutely delightful, lighter hearted (meaning NO heavy romance) reading. Just what I needed.R. Caine High School 1-3 It’s been quite some time since I’ve read a YA series that kept my attention & had me wanting more as much as R. Caine High did.Victoria Danann has a way of writing that sucks you in & makes you feel like you are right there in the thick of things. Excellent world building.Definitely a page turning, MUST READ!

Just absolutely perfect. Even though I just got my book today, I am absolutely IN LOVE WITH IT. I could not put it down for hours! I absolutely love the fact that you can write in it, personalize it and mark what’s most important. I have almost a year and a half until my wedding, since I need to finish up college but I can already tell that this book will be a big part of my life until then. This planner has been a lifesaver!! I did not grow up imagining my wedding day or knowing even remotely what I wanted it to look like, so purchasing this book was my cry for help. Budget-wise, I haven't followed the book's financial advise too closely, more loosely by just keeping my budget concerns in mind.Where this book is worth its weight in gold for me is the lists, the posed questions of what if's, and all the information pointing out planning items I would never have known to address. For example, in the chapter addressing picking vendors, the author provided a list of questions to ask each vendor and then provided advice for the possible answers each question might receive. This formula is repeated with every planning section and helped me feel a LOT more confident and secure with my decisions. Even if I didn't choose to ask a vendor every single question the author provides, I still felt confident knowing I was equipped to know if I was receiving good service from each vendor.Additionally, the author provides checklists for both one-year and six-month wedding planning timelines (my personally planning is only six months, so this was especially useful for me!). Within both timelines is a broken-out countdown list numbered by each month left until the wedding, including up to one week before the wedding itself. Again, such a lifesaver!Overall, I recommend this book for brides/grooms who need realistic, creative thinking to keep wedding spending in check or, like me, need a simple, straight-forward guide to navigate wedding norms.
